Meet our Team: Behind the Scenes at Tailored Space Interiors!

If you’ve been following along with us on social media for a while, but haven’t yet visited our Tweed Heads showroom or booked one of our design services - you may be wondering exactly who we are! Here at Tailored Space Interiors, we’re lucky enough to have a pretty incredible team working hard behind the scenes - from our interior designers to our showroom assistants and delivery drivers.

Today, we wanted to introduce you to each of our amazing team members, with a behind-the-scenes look at their role at Tailored Space. Keep reading to meet each member of our wonderful team, and learn more about their day-to-day routines and favourite memories from the job.

Meet the Team: Tailored Space Interiors, Gold Coast Interior Designers and Property Styling Hire PackagesBec is the owner and director of Tailored Space Interiors, combining her background in senior management roles with her interior design qualifications to bring beautiful spaces to life. With a passion for all things interiors, Bec has worked on an array of successful residential and commercial projects along with creating strategic property styling solutions for clients across the Gold Coast, Brisbane and Byron Bay.

Along with designing styling concepts, creating mood boards and carrying out build consultations, Bec also uses her project management background to ensure all of our projects are carried out seamlessly from beginning to end.

What does a typical day at work look like for you?

There is no such thing as a typical day really - every day is different depending on what clients and jobs we have going on at any time. But usually first up is general admin, banking, emails etc, and making sure the team has whatever they need from me to keep on top of things for the day.

Usually, I will have either a property styling install to do where we furnish and style a home that is coming up for sale, or meetings with clients in their home to advise on and discuss their interior design needs or compile mood boards for them. On other days I have Build Consultations booked with clients of our local builders to help them decide on the direction for their colours and finishes for their new homes.

And in between everything is the day to day running of the business, working with my team and finding time for future business planning.

What is your favourite part about the job?

I like the sense of achievement in seeing spaces transform and bringing joy to our clients.

What is your favourite memory/project from your time at Tailored Space?

Oh there are so many but the absolute stand out for me is getting to meet Chris Hemsworth when we delivered some product he purchased from us to his home in Byron Bay!!!

With her extensive knowledge of all things design and an eye for colour, materials, proportions and finishes, Kristy specialises in helping our clients create beautiful and functional spaces - from forever homes and residential designs to colour selections and commercial projects.

We love seeing the unique styling concepts and e-mood boards created by Kristy for our interior design consultations and furniture hire packages, with some stunning completed projects in her portfolio of work.

What does a typical day at work look like for you?

Coffee / Planning / Writing Lists / Coffee. The best part is playing with colours, fabrics, rugs and cushions.

What is your favourite part about the job?

My favourite part of my job is when the client is really happy with the outcome of their colour selection or furniture hire package - walking away and knowing you have achieved what the client is wanting.

What is your favourite memory/project from your time at Tailored Space?

I have had a few so this is a tricky question for me. One would be from one of the first colour selections I did - for a lovely client's new duplex in Mermaid Waters, selecting interior and exterior colours.  A clients apartment in Coolangatta - this lovely lady has a new apartment and wanted to make it her own, and we have become quite good friends.

With furniture hire packages I love seeing the end result in the one day, selecting the furniture and installing it - can be very rewarding.

From liaising with clients and suppliers to sourcing products and scheduling contractors, Kim uses her background in marketing and customer service along with her love of interior design to ensure the Tailored Space office is streamlined and organised while also keeping our projects on track!

What does a typical day at work look like for you?

Email catch up for the first part of the morning, followed by follow up phone calls with suppliers and clients. Coffee. Searching through 1,000’s of beautiful products to find the perfect item for a client's home. More follow up phone calls and emails. Compiling a specification list and scheduling trades for an upcoming project. Chocolate. Ordering a new sofa for a lovely client and arranging delivery date.

What is your favourite part about the job?

Being able to help make Bec’s work day easier by dealing with day-to-day tasks.

What is your favourite memory/project from your time at Tailored Space?

We get the opportunity to work on some amazing projects here at Tailored Space and bring to life some gorgeous properties. I am really excited about the Tweed Coast Holiday Parks project that we are working on at the moment, refurbishing holiday cabins across park sites on the Tweed Coast. It’s nice to work on something that you know will be enjoyed by the many many lucky people who come to stay in them.

Dani is our newest team member, helping to manage our showroom and liaise with our wonderful customers and clients. If you visit our Tweed Heads showroom, Dani will likely be the one on-hand to greet you and answer any questions you may have! 

Recently graduating from a Diploma of Interior Design and Decorating, Dani joined our team just 2 weeks after graduating. Having held an interest in Interior Design from a young age, she loves the way a space can be completely transformed and given a new identity!

What does a typical day at work look like for you?

A typical day for me is responding to client/customer email enquiries, corresponding and organising with clients, agents and stylists for furniture hire packages, sourcing furniture, furnishings and accessories for clients, styling and upkeep of the showroom and website management. All possible through the power of coffee!

What is your favourite part about the job?

When all the planning and organising for a job comes together perfectly. Also providing design and decorating advice to clients, assisting them in creating beautiful interiors!

What is your favourite memory/project from your time at Tailored Space?

When I went on a property styling job in Kingscliff, seeing the rooms all transform and come together as one cohesive and stylish property. I just love the whole design process of staging jobs, the colour scheme and furniture selection and final finishing touches.

Paul is one of our absolute key members here at Tailored Space, being our trusted Warehouse Manager. Paul has the task of maintaining our busy warehouse, while also preparing and delivering all of our beautiful stock to property styling and interior design projects across the Gold Coast, Tweed Coast, Brisbane and Northern NSW.

What does a typical day at work look like for you?

A typical day for me usually involves helping the girls out to pack for various jobs and keeping the warehouse organised. Loading the truck with furniture and taking house packages to properties, also assisting the girls at the showroom and other general duties as required.

What is your favourite part about the job?

I have had the opportunity to see amazing properties along the coast, and watching the girls transform a house from a blank canvas into a show home.

What is your favourite memory/project from your time at Tailored Space?

There have been a lot of memorable projects but I do like a road trip, so the install at Coffs Harbour stands out for me.
