We always love to see the before and after transformations from our interior design projects, and this Hampton-inspired Palm Beach unit is no exception.
Working closely with our clients to meet not only their style brief but also the practical requirements of the home, our designers were able to create a beautiful, functional space using modern furniture and contemporary decor.
Keep reading as we share a behind-the-scenes look into our interior design process, along with some incredible before and after shots to showcase this amazing transformation from beginning to end!
The brief
This light and airy Palm Beach unit required full furnishing, with the ability for our clients to use the space as both a weekender home and AirBnB property.
In terms of styling, our client had a very specific brief. They wanted a relaxed, beach feel, while still remaining modern and high-end, using neutral tones of blue and white to create a restful, peaceful space.
Our client provided us with images of their favourite Hawaiian hotel as inspiration for the design (a space they enjoyed and loved to visit), and wanted to feature rattan, timber and white furniture elements throughout the unit. The style brief was a blend of Hamptons meets Island Home and Tommy Bahamas - the perfect brief to reflect the coastal location of the property.
In terms of functionality, it was also important for the space to be serviceable and easily maintained for its dual purpose as an AirBnB.
Our design process
After an initial meeting with our clients to talk through their brief and requirements for the home, we created a detailed mood board of ideas to review. Once items were approved, we then sourced and ordered all of the required furnishings, which we delivered and set-up in just one day on-site.
Drawing inspiration from our clients brief, we chose a selection of Hampton and Island-inspired pieces in natural materials of timber and rattan. We kept colours light and neutral throughout the styling, using tones of white, cream and taupe with coastal blues as our accent colour.
We styled two bedrooms, an open plan living and dining area, hallways and the outdoor balcony using a selection of modern furniture and decor pieces suited to the brief. Colourful artworks, statement upholstery, crisp white linens and contemporary textiles helped to complete the look.
In order for the space to remain serviceable, we installed a slip cover sofa with a removable and washable cover, along with a matching ottoman that could be used as both a coffee table and chaise lounge. We also created a custom bed-head for the second bedroom, allowing for the beds to be set-up as a king ensemble or two seperate single beds as needed. Our team assembled all of the items and removed rubbish at the end of installation, creating a convenient and stress-free service for our clients.
The end result is a peaceful, airy and inviting home with coastal colours, natural materials and contemporary furnishings - the perfect place to spend a relaxing weekend on the Gold Coast!
