We share many beautiful photos of our property styling projects through our online portfolio and social media accounts. The photos that we share usually show the polished end result of each and every home - but we don’t often share the transformation and our design process along the way!
To really prove how property styling can maximise the value of your home, we thought we’d share some behind-the-scenes before and after shots from a recent project in Pottsville. Working with an oceanfront property that was still occupied by the owner, some strategic thinking and careful styling was required to really showcase the best elements of this home while sticking to our clients budget.
This quintessential beachfront property was nestled in a prime location on the Tweed Coast. With white walls, timber floorboards and incredible ocean views, we had a great foundation to work with - but the current styling of the home was definitely not modern enough to appeal to the current real estate market. The rooms also felt dark and cluttered, and we knew we would need to make some changes for our client to achieve the best price possible.
We really wanted to showcase the amazing 180-degree ocean views as a unique selling point for the home. This meant choosing furniture and decor that would be modern and stylish without being a distraction - we wanted the view to be the focal point instead.
Making the spaces feel light, open and breezy was another mission of ours to take advantage of the incredible location. We also knew that the styling of the home had to be contemporary enough to warrant the high-end price point and appeal to the right buyers.
With this Pottsville property styling project, our client was still living in the home so it was important for the furnishings to be practical and functional enough for a family to go about their everyday lives. With a set budget to work with, we also had to be strategic in utilising what was already at the property and blending this seamlessly with our own range of furniture and decor to find a happy medium.
We are always mindful of the fact that our clients may have strong emotional attachments with their homes. After so many years creating your own personal sanctuary, it can be difficult to allow a property stylist to come in and make any drastic changes - but luckily we were able to find a perfect balance between old and new.
And as for the end result....
To complement the neutral tones of the property we chose a selection of furniture and decor in crisp whites, timbers and shades of blues, greys and greens. We used vibrant artworks and textiles to bring some colour into the space, tying into the coastal surroundings and reflecting the beautiful ocean views.
We made sure the space felt cosy and homely with soft throws, floor rugs and plenty of cushions, along with a selection of vases, decor and accessories.
It’s safe to say that property styling can do wonders for the overall look and feel of your home. We feel privileged that we are able to help homeowners achieve quick and profitable sales through our property styling services.
